Obviously we LOVE to travel and explore. People often ask me where to visit when they go somewhere so I thought I’d create these ‘Playlist’ posts with our favourite spots to explore!
The first has to be Daylesford…one of our favourite spots for a short getaway in the gold fields region which is so rich in history and has a close connection to my family as my great, great uncle was the Publican of the Daylesford Town Hall Hotel (now known as the Royal Hotel Daylesford) in the early 1920s.

There are so many delicious spots for brekky in Daylesford. Some of our favourites are:
The classic old-school General Store feel Cliffy’s has created is so nostalgic, you can’t help but love it. It’s always packed so I highly recommend booking for inside seating or there is outside seating if the weather is okay.
One of our favourite’s is the Chilli eggs which comes with Roti…YUM!

While you’re at Cliffy’s pop into the gorgeous little florist and nursery next door for some great treasures or inspiration.

The Convent is another of our favourite brekky/lunch spots and a MUST VISIT, even if you just go for a tour of the Gallery, which is always changing.
Described as “the most beautiful art gallery in Australia”, the Convent is a multi-award winning tourist destination in Daylesford.
The Convent is Daylesford’s most iconic building. Nestled on the crest of Wombat Hill, over-looking Daylesford, this 19th century old building was a convent and boarding school for almost 90 years. Now, under one magnificently restored roof you’ll discover a rich and beautiful tapestry of experiences. Over four levels, there are seven gallery spaces, a museum, chapel, gift shop, café, bar and function rooms, all incorporating art, history and culture. Surrounded by fragrant and beautifully groomed gardens and panoramic views of Victoria’s picturesque central highlands.

Bistro Terroir is a neigbourhood French Restaurant which is such a treat for dinner. The staff are so friendly and make you feel really welcome. We go here every year for our wedding anniversary and their ‘steak fritz (steak & chips)’ is hubby’s favourite!
